Shine non uniform day - wear something yellow and bring in a donation for the charity Shine

Start: 12th Jun 2015 8:50am

Following the success of our Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus Awareness day last year, we are holding another on Friday 12th June. This supports our Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural education programme and will enable our children to find out more about the work of a registered charity called Shine (Spina Bifida, Hydrocephalus, Information, Networking, Equality) which has been an invaluable support to one of our families. Shine supports families and individuals affected by Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus.

We would like the children to come into school wearing something yellow. A donation to the Shine charity would be very welcome. During the day we will be encouraging the children to think about areas in which they ‘shine’ (maybe a sport, knowledge in an interest, behaviours for example) and how they can use this positively to help others. This ties in with the Shine charity’s support which enables individuals and families to ‘shine’. It would be great if you could talk to your child in preparation for this.

If you would like to know more about the charity please visit their website (www.shinecharity.org.uk ) or talk to Clare Riley (a parent of children in Year 3 and Year 6).

Thank you in anticipation. Your support is really appreciated.
