Year 4 - The Nowhere Emporium!, by Mrs Hover

Date: 1st Dec 2019 @ 7:03am

Linking to the themes in our text, 'Leon and the Place Between', we read the prologue from 'The Nowhere Emporium' by Ross MacKenzie.  The children then created their own mysterious shop which appears from nowhere. We looked at the shops in Diagon Alley to inspire us! Some of the children then created drawings of their magical shops at home!

Year 4 - Circus!, by Mrs Hover

Date: 5th Nov 2019 @ 9:40pm

Today our classroom was transformed into a circus! There was music, incense, fairy lights, popcorn, candyfloss, images of the ‘Big Top’, acrobats, clowns, a white rabbit coming out of a top hat, a ringmaster, clowns on stilts and a lot more! In groups we wrote down what we could see, hear, smell and taste.

Year 4 had to run very fast as there was very little wind! I don't think the IPAD could cope with their speed - hence the grainy pictures!

Year 4 - Our last two days, by Mrs Hover

Date: 23rd Jul 2019 @ 3:50pm

We had a lovely last two days in Year 4!  On Monday, we had a D&T day where we tasted and evaluated different bread products.  We also baked and tasted our own Roman bread.

Today, lots of the children chose to do some art work linked to the 'Water Horse'.  We also enjoyed watching the film.

Have a well deserved break Year 4 and we look forward to hearing about your adventures in September!

A big thank you for our lovely cards and gifts, from all the Year 4 team.

Sports day, by Mrs Bailey

Date: 22nd Jun 2019 @ 10:44am

Thank you to everyone who supported our Sports Day this year. It was great to see and hear the support for all the children taking part, your cheers and claps were huge motivators! The weather was fabulous and a great day was had by all.

Thank you to those who supported the PTA by purchasing raffle tickets. There were some amazing prizes - our Year 6 pupils did a great job of writing letters to companies to encourage them to donate prizes. We raised a total of £216!

Year 4's mysterious object!, by Mrs Hover

Date: 6th Jun 2019 @ 2:19pm

This week, we watched a short film about the remote Isle of Ulva in the Scottish Highlands.  We imagined that this was our location for our Year 4 residential!  In small groups, we created our own maps of the island, plotting key features and then we recorded all our questions about our week's residential on the island.

Donald the ferryman, spotted something unusual on the shoreline after a big storm and he asked if we could help him to describe the object and predict what this object could be.  A few other islanders had likened the object to the legend of the kelpie.
