Year 2 have loved learning from The Dragon Machine and writing their own alternative versions. They all enjoyed exploring the snake skin, tortoise shell and leopard fur and showed great empathy when discussing  the reasons why these animals are hunted. There were lots of giggles when they were pretending to be meerkats!

Another fun Friday today : )

Date: 2nd Nov 2022 @ 10:40am

Year 2 had a lovely surprise this morning as Lauren from Super Little Scientist joined us to teach us about birds. We learnt about...

  • What penguins need to survive in their habitats (Antarctic, forest in New Zealand and beaches in South Africa) and how they stay warm
  • Which beak works best to capture their food
  • Which colour worm is best camouflaged

We had an incredible time and absolutely loved learning more about how birds survive.

Year 2 Forest School, by Miss Jones

Date: 21st Oct 2022 @ 3:32pm

What a wonderful way to end our first half term! The children have been delightful and it has been a joy to experience today with them. I am sure they will tell you all of the exciting bits about today but I am truly proud of them. They demonstrated just what sensible, resourceful, respectful and caring Year two’s they are. I tried to capture the magic from behind the camera and the children were most impressed I managed to capture a few dragon sneeze sparks!!!

Thank you Year 2 for a fun Forest day! Have the best half term!

Inter Schools Rounders Tournament, by Mrs Percival

Date: 7th Jul 2022 @ 7:00pm

On Monday a group of Y5 and Y6 children attended the Chester schools Rounders tournament in which over 20 teams took part. Our team won 3 out of their 4 matches and narrowly missed the semi-finals by one point. What we were most impressed with was their team spirit and sportsmanship, they were a real credit to Oldfield.
