Welcome to Year 6! We have such an exciting year ahead of us.

Our curriculum

We have a history focus this half term as we learn about World War Two. We will use historical sources and our two English texts to explore the issues of evacuation, the Blitz, life on the home front and the holocaust. 

PE will take place on Monday afternoons where children will practise some dances from the war era with AmaSing and on Friday mornings doing gymnastics with Ron. Children should come to school wearing their PE kit on these days.

Homework will be set on a Thursday. It should be returned by the following Wednesday. It will be put on our Google classroom page. You will have the option each week to complete your homework online or in your homework book. 

The best way that you can practise your learning at home is by reading daily as much as possible. We have a fantastic selection of books in school. How many can you read this year?
