Summer 1

Welcome back to Year 6! We are really excited for our Summer 1 half term.

Our curriculum

This half term is all about adventure. We will be reading about amazing adventurers in our English texts and we will write our own adventure stories.

We continue our Maths journey this half term by continuing our work on Geometry. We will continue to practise the arithmetic strategies that we have learnt so far. 

PE will take place on Monday afternoons with Kelly from AmaSing and with Pat and Andy.

Key Stage 2 assessments

The end of Key Stage 2 assessments (SATs) will take place this half term on the week beginning Monday 13th May. We will be revising in the weeks leading up to the tests. More information about the tests will be sent out by Mrs Oldman at the start of term.

Homework will be set on a Thursday. It should be returned by the following Wednesday. It will be put on our Google classroom page. Remember to check our revision sites on Google classroom too. 

The best way that you can practise your learning at home is by reading daily as much as possible. We have a fantastic selection of books in school. How many can you read this year?
