Lunches
Lunchtimes are an important part of the school day, giving children time to enjoy tasty, nutritious food, recharge their energy and spend time with friends.
At Oldfield, we want every child to enjoy a happy, healthy and inclusive lunchtime where they feel safe, supported and ready for the rest of their day.
School lunch and allergy information
Our school meals are provided by Edsential, a Community Interest Company. They provide fresh, nutritious meals designed to support children’s health, wellbeing and concentration. Menus include a range of choices, including vegetarian and allergen-friendly options. Copies of our menu choices are available here for you to download.
Allergies and special dietary requirements
If your child has a medical condition, allergy or intolerance requiring a specific diet, please see the allergy and special dietary information and diet sheet below. Please provide the relevant supporting medical information so that we can ensure your child’s dietary needs are safely met.
We work in partnership with parents and carers to develop Individual Healthcare Plans (IHPs) where appropriate, so that each child’s individual needs and the arrangements to keep them safe and well in school are clearly understood. For further information, please visit the Department for Education’s Allergy Safety in Schools guidance.
If we do not yet have sufficient information about a suspected allergy or medical dietary requirement, Edsential will provide a non-allergic fail-safe meal until the dietary requirements have been confirmed. This usually consists of:
Jacket potato
A suitable approved topping
Suitable approved side salad
Fresh fruit
Water
If your child requires a cultural, religious or lifestyle diet, please complete the relevant form below.
We are also a nut-aware school and have arrangements in place to reduce the risk of exposure to nuts.
Please speak to the school office if you have any questions about your child’s dietary needs or need support completing the forms.
