Year 4 had to run very fast as there was very little wind! I don't think the IPAD could cope with their speed - hence the grainy pictures!

We had a lovely last two days in Year 4!  On Monday, we had a D&T day where we tasted and evaluated different bread products.  We also baked and tasted our own Roman bread.

Today, lots of the children chose to do some art work linked to the 'Water Horse'.  We also enjoyed watching the film.

Have a well deserved break Year 4 and we look forward to hearing about your adventures in September!

A big thank you for our lovely cards and gifts, from all the Year 4 team.

Thank you to everyone who supported our Sports Day this year. It was great to see and hear the support for all the children taking part, your cheers and claps were huge motivators! The weather was fabulous and a great day was had by all.

Thank you to those who supported the PTA by purchasing raffle tickets. There were some amazing prizes - our Year 6 pupils did a great job of writing letters to companies to encourage them to donate prizes. We raised a total of £216!

Year 4's mysterious object!, by Mrs Hover

Date: 6th Jun 2019 @ 2:19pm

This week, we watched a short film about the remote Isle of Ulva in the Scottish Highlands.  We imagined that this was our location for our Year 4 residential!  In small groups, we created our own maps of the island, plotting key features and then we recorded all our questions about our week's residential on the island.

Donald the ferryman, spotted something unusual on the shoreline after a big storm and he asked if we could help him to describe the object and predict what this object could be.  A few other islanders had likened the object to the legend of the kelpie.

Key Steps Gymnastics competition 2019, by Miss Jones

Date: 3rd May 2019 @ 10:13am

On Thursday, Miss Jones took a group of Year 4 and Year 6 children to a gymnastics competition at the Ellesmere Port Gymnastics Club. All children had to complete a tricky floor routine and a vault. Some children were competing as a team and others were competing as individual gymnasts. The children worked so hard on memorising and perfecting their routines. I was so impressed! It was lovely to see them all enjoy themselves and cheer on all the other gymnasts.

Our Year 4 team won their event and will progress through to the county finals in July.

The Year 6 team came 5th in their event.

Well done to all the gymnasts who took part and thank you to Mr Eddison and Mrs Wynne for supporting with transport.

Miss Jones.

Year 4 created a video called, ‘Would it be OK…?’ about the plight of Sumatran Tigers.  They are critically endangered and we wanted to educate people so this beautiful animal doesn’t become extinct.  We worked in pairs thinking about the ‘voice’ of the tiger and then created powerful questions based upon their threats.

We enjoyed a tasty Christmas lunch today. Thank you to everyone involved in preparing and serving the meal. We listened to festive Christmas music whilst we ate. It was exciting pulling our crackers and reading the jokes inside!

A special thank you to Mrs Stark, Mrs Maddocks and Ms Denham for preparing the food , to our governors who came in to help serve the food and to staff who gave up part of their lunchtime to ensure the lunch went smoothly.
