Year 3's news, by Mrs Hover

Date: 27th Jun 2025 @ 10:53am

Year 3 have had a very busy two weeks! Harri's Dad came to speak to the class about how our heart works and the children had a go at CPR. Last week, Halle's Dad visited our class with some of his colleagues from Lloyd's bank for a financial workshop. On Monday, we had the treat of listening to Callum, Evan and Harri play guitar together and on Wednesday afternoon, the children enjoyed some mini games of football with Everton Football College :)

People's Learning Trust - Everton College winners, by Mr Brown

Date: 12th Jun 2025 @ 8:07pm

Our football team were the winners of the first People’s Learning Trust Football event at the Everton College campus at Vauxhalls in Ellesmere Port.

The team won their group winning 2 and drawing 2 games, beating our link school from Swansea, Clwyd Primary in the semi-finals and going on to beat Meadow Primary in the final. The children were a credit to the school and made me proud not just for winning but for the way they played each game and supported each other.

Thank you so much to Jess, Craig and Joanne for the help with transport and our travelling supporters for their encouragement.

Year 3 had a brilliant trip into Roman Chester! They explored around the Grosvenor Museum and enjoyed a workshop looking at lots of Roman artefacts. They did some Roman army training at the amphitheatre before walking all the way back to school. The children's behaviour was brilliant and it was lovely chatting to them as we walked along the canal on a sunny day :)

Y3 Setting descriptions for 'Winter's Child', by Mrs Hover

Date: 5th Dec 2024 @ 10:39am

After looking at the beautiful illustrations of the forest scene, the children created similes around the picture. We then used these to create a setting description, adding more adjectives and prepositions to really paint a picture of the scene in the reader's mind. We are really proud of the children's final descriptions :)
