Our Whole School Approach to Mathematics
At Oldfield Primary School, we believe every child can succeed in mathematics. Through our Mastery Curriculum approach, we develop deep, secure and lasting understanding by providing rich opportunities for children to explore ideas, identify patterns, build fluency, reason and problem solve with confidence.
We maintain high expectations for all learners through carefully structured lessons, meaningful activities and the use of manipulatives to deepen understanding and support mathematical thinking. We strive for pupils to move through the curriculum together, fostering collaboration, inclusion, curiosity, resilience and positive attitudes towards mathematics, enabling all children to become confident and reflective learners prepared for future learning and everyday life.
