"and Tango makes three" Penguin life cycles - Year 2

Class: Year 2 Year: 2017 - 2018

This week, Year 2 have begun learning about the growth of animals.

We have read the book "And Tango makes three" by Justin Richardson which is about 2 daddy penguins who are sad because they don't have an egg like the rest of the other couples. Luckily, the kind zoo keeper helped the daddy penguins by giving them an egg.

We discussed how mummy animals and humans have babies and that depending on the animal type, they may look the same as their parents or they may look different. For example, birds lay eggs and look different. Mammals are born looking like a smaller version of their parents.

We then played a game to see if we could match the adult animal to the baby animal with the challenge of naming them all.
